ABOUT THE POMONA COLLEGE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (PCIP)
The Career Development Office offers two distinguished internship programs — PCIP: Semester and PCIP: Summer Experience. Both programs aid students in the process of exploring and determining a career path, gain a rich understanding of a particular field and/or organization, build and grow their networks, and enhance the understanding of how their liberal arts education will be applied in an off-campus work environment.
The goals of PCIP are to:
- Develop a better understanding of a professional work environment
- Enhance knowledge and awareness about a particular career field and provide networking opportunities
- Learn how a liberal arts education will apply in a work environment
- Aid in the process of determining what career to pursue after graduation
AN OVERVIEW OF PCIP: SUMMER EXPERIENCE
PCIP: Summer Experience provides financial support for students to build upon their academic pursuits with experiential learning and career development opportunities. The funding helps alleviate financial barriers for living expenses for a minimum of 6-week summer experience associated with unpaid or low-paid opportunities. Students who successfully complete their internship and required assignments also receive a transcript notation.
Note: PCIP stipends are not a replacement of wages. Stipends are a gift meant to offset the costs associated with unpaid or low-paid internships.
Please contact PCIP@pomona.edu if you have questions or need more information.
